Does anybody else get super restless at two in the morning every now and then?

I find it fun as hell to dress up and go walking in the dead silence of night. It's just so thrilling...

(And I'm not claiming, "Oh my God, I'm THIS GOTH, blahblahblah", so stfu before someone starts... :F_U: )

My area is usually pretty quiet overall, nothing really dangerous to be expected by roaming. Once, I walked about three miles to my friend's house at about 2am... stopping at a park to ponder at the stars, I got there at about five... so much fun. :D

What possibly wierd or crazy things do you guys and/or gals do when the sun goes down? :)

Sometimes at 2am I use the road as a racetrack on my motorbike. Where I live, on a weeknight at that time the only people out on the streets are cops and people driving around really fast. Cops drive around really fast too, chasing people. Never bikes though, they can't keep up. Cops on motorcycles are as ghosts to my pacman with no energy pills left. Game over. Usually.

Princess Paradox may appreciate the Australian car hoon culture. Well, maybe not appreciate.

I try to get to sleep before midnight, otherwise what I call the "Night-Crazies" will kick in and I can only liken it to the manic phase of manic depression.

Night Crazies result in odd things like shopping trips to wal-mart at 3am, accidentally dying my white porcelin bathtub green, and excessive paranoia and nudity.

Reading is a good thing to do at night..

Otherwise yes going to a nightly walk is good, only issue is whether you can see in the dark where your going when its pitch black outside.

Hot cup of tea, open the window and sit in the sill with all the lights off.
Lay on the living room floor with all the lights off.
Get in the car and ride to somewhere completely dark and then get out and lay on the car hood without any sounds.

. . . I think you get the idea.

However, I'm usually out at a pretty regular time. I have no stamina and I don't do drugs. Energy drinks/coffee are rare. I do like my hot tea, but I don't drink anything but herbal near nighttime. If I'm up at a late hour, I know I'm not sleeping at all that night.

Basically love, you love the darkness.. :P

It's my generally fruitless attempt to fall asleep.

I kid my mom because she likes to shut all the curtains and keep the lights off in the house. I call her the "mole person." I love the sunlight, but when it's actually nighttime, I do enjoy the dark and quiet. It makes me feel nostalgic.

Well, I'm not out walking at night, that's for sure... I'm kinda afraid of the dark...

No, at 2 AM I'll be sitting in my bed with my laptop surfing on the internet... Like now.

edit:
Also, I get very creative at night, so I'll often use the night to work on a webpage, a script or write a story or (bad) poetry.

I love it.

If I get to nap in the afternoon, I can't stop moving around for a good portion of the night. Nudity I've done once, paranoia- often (but not as often as of late), but mostly belly dancing to VNV Nation (candle dancing optional).

Yay for energy X) {v}

Ah, that in fact, is one of the perfect things to do late at night: belly dancing.

2 am is the perfect time for dancing (though the lady downstairs is sure to disagree).

Dude! I totally bellydance at night too! Mainly 'cause it's a good workout and I like to workout at night.

Is there such a thing as a 24 hour gym? If not, there should be. Especially in the summer because working out in the heat of the day is damn near unbearable.

When I lived at home, I used to pester my brother into jogging with me at night but I'm in a high crime area now and any young chick who goes jogging at night is asking to get raped.

There are a few gyms over here locally that actually do offer it but I think its due to the high number of fitness deals offered to the high rate working class. And those who do shift work (loads of them).

When I used to go to the gym, I'd often be found in the gym during the late-early hours from the fact its empty of most people, and cooler than daytime and also with my choice of which channel to put on the TV screens and wack the volume up improving motivation.

Indeed. Usually to non-traditional music (read: Kisschasy) accompanied by peanut butter goodness and dancing kitties.

24/7 gyms, eat your heart out. Booyah.

Pshhhh, I have never been to the gym, I dont work out, and I eat unhealthy in large amounts... and I just got a job at dunkin donuts... XD

What do I do at night? Play video games whatch anime and sit on the porch watching the bats fly around the front yard and listen to the very creepy scilent hill like sirens that come from the fire house.. also... I gaze at the empty road in town and watch the caution lights flash in the intersection.. yep thats my night.. sound boring? well you suck because I barely get enough sleep to keep me from yawning all day and crashing when I get home.. I really have no life, But I am enjoying the hell out of it.

Some people can do that, be thin as a rake and eat a life of junk food..

Dismal Dollie

I eat junk food and don't exercise . . . and that's why I've put on twenty pounds in two years.

I'll finally live in a neighboorhood with a good gym with a roommate who doesn't think cake is a food group and doesn't make me emotionally crazy! Yay! I study health and wellness, there's no reason for me to look like a doughnut.

We have 24 hour gyms around here, too.

My Dear DD, as the lovely loosif might say, and you know, you can eat those foods that taste great, just have them in a little different cooked style and they still taste great, but not as bad..

Maybe mix in some other healthy foods with them and after time cut down on how much you have unhealthy and before you know it, they become once in a while treats.

I had Pizza last week for the first time in AGES.. Heres the difference, less cheese, no bacon (yuck) and less bbq sauce base. Also cut down on the size of pizza. Tasted good as ever but I knew it didn't dent my fitness program that much.

1-2am is my favorite hour, what I like to call my creative hour. When I was a young teenager I used to write stories and poems and play the piano around that time. Now I surf the Net. And of course, midnight always tastes better with a hot cup of coffee.

I wander. (Wandered away from this at first, because it lost my attention a moment.)

I wander around a lot at night. I'm living the day life though, right now, so I haven't gone for a nice nightly stroll in a long while. I really miss it; everything is clearer. Even the air. I have more energy, think better and get more work done. At 2 a.m. I am the perfect employee.

The best essays and the longest stories I've written, I wrote at 2 a.m. or later. They also have the most detail of their kind. 2a.m. is my cut-off time. I'm either awake or asleep for the day. Said day ends around noon.

Too bad I don't have a job (or nightly job, for that matter).

Why do people insist that you can't be professional at night, when the exact opposite is true for my most people?
