I found this to be a very, uh, enlightening video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKQu16wRMqk). A tad long, but believe me you get the idea soon enough.

What do the people here think of those trying to make "Creationism" a science?

For me, actual Creationism has very little actual science behind it therefore does not qualify. I also feel that as a RELIGION there is an inherent contradiction in trying to "proof" faith. It's called faith for a reason.

. . . I would note that the "Doctor" in that particular seminar has been arrested on various counts and is considered, even in his own field, to be fraudulent and ignorant, but the video generally represents my feeling on the subject. Creationism is a religious belief, and one cannot really believe the bible and "science" in the same mind.

I think trying to "prove" creationism goes completely against the idea of creationism.
You are supposed to believe in it without proof..... Thats the definition of having faith.

It reminds me of a cartoon I saw once ( i think matt posted it). Someone had the bible in their hands and said "OK, here is the conclusion.. What facts can we find to support it?" And in the other panel a scientist had a lab report in his hands and said, "Here are the facts, what conclusion can we draw from them?"

Science and Creation (as written literally in the bible) cannot be reconciled. Trust me. Megan and I have butted heads pleanty of times on this topic.

I wouldnt presume to know.

Claiming to have the definite answer, in my opinion, is pure arrogance.

i think they can be reconciled. To paraphrase in, I believe it was Acts, "God's time is not man's time. A thousand years for man is as a day to God" Which means that the Creationist "days" could have been thousands of years.

Um, you need to re-read your bible.
